A moment of appreciation for the delicate plants who take up to 7 years to produce a single flower: Trout Lily. Their slow and steady nature is a testament to their devotion and a reminder of our own relationship with patience. These plants are excellent teachers for self-care and for turning our love and commitment inwards, back into ourselves. The woods I live next to are home to thousands of these tiny beings, and each spring I stand at their edge and wonder how long they’ve been working at blanketing the forest floor.
