Embrace is an attempt at conveying the love between humans and nature, both tending to each other in a devotional, reciprocal way. A note on holding and also being held. My ethnobotanist neighbor told me a story of someone speaking at a conference once: an indigenous elder was being asked how we could be better stewards for the earth. His response was that stewarding implied a hierarchy, when we could instead be acknowledging our interconnectedness with it. We are not superiors, we are co-creators, just as all the other plants, animals, fungi, and micro-organisms are.
